The Limitless Project

Improving communication and interpersonal skills; strengthening autonomy and enabling access to network services for senior citizens.
Federico Bartolomei

Now underway is the Limitless Project, an initiative developed by the Istituto Cavazza and supported by the Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna to promote access to technology for elderly people with a visual impairment.

The initiative aims to compensate for the generally reduced ability of older adults living with vision loss to use digital resources, which often prevents them from accessing the most modern communication systems and receiving basic and not so basic services. The aim is to improve the ability of people over 65 to use digital tools in their everyday lives, promoting personal autonomy and at the same time combating the phenomenon of isolation that the COVID-19 pandemic has made even more salient in the lives of so many. In short, more socializing and greater access to the many services offered on the Internet: from online shopping, to banking, and reading in one's spare time. The project, which is free, will initially involve 50 older adults who are blind or visually impaired. It is easy to participate: people simply need to contact the Istituto Cavazza's Technology Help Centre to speak with a consultant who will discuss how to move forward with the project.
