Publishing house donates large catalogue of audiobooks to the Istituto Cavazza.

On June 7th, 2011, publishing house Area51 Publishing had the pleasure of offering to the Istituto Cavazza, in partnership with RavennaPoesia and Parametri Musicali, its own catalogue of audiobooks. I believe that this small event is important for three reasons.
The first reason is of an economic and social nature. A noble institution of an impressively long-standing tradition in the social sphere is brought together with a young publishing house active in the market. The vision of both is to improve people's life: the Istituto Cavazza with its philanthropic activities, Area51 Publishing with the creation of a culture that is alive and free. So, it is with much

straightforwardness that the economic and social spheres were not only able to meet but also to amalgamate.
The second reason is of a territorial nature. The Istituto Cavazza and Area51Publishing are Bolognese realities and for whom, like me, still believes, despite everything, in the spirit of this city, the acquaintance was moving.
The third reason is of a spiritual nature. Consequent on Oliver Sacks' lesson, I have never considered disabilities as inabilities. On the contrary, I believe that there are different and irreducible ways, in respect to the socially recognized standards on the basis of statistical criteria,

of understanding and interpreting reality, which are infinite. The first and greatest heritage of humanity's images is Homer's epic poetry. The Iliad and the Odyssey were oral poetry, sung, according to the myth, by a blind poet. Voice and hearing shaped and styled the character of the greatest heritage of humanity's images. The audiobook renews the experience of the original cosmogonic explosion of images. And it is with this spirit that we develop our audiobooks. With that same spirit we offered them to the Istituto Cavazza.
